New Delhi: The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, has officially launched Logistics Data Bank (LDB) 2.0, a next-generation logistics tracking platform designed to enhance efficiency, improve transparency, and support India’s export competitiveness.
The launch coincided with the 10-year anniversary of the Make in India initiative.

Developed by NICDC Logistics Data Services (NLDSL), the Logistics Data Bank (LDB) 2.0 introduces advanced features such as high-seas container tracking, multi-modal shipment visibility, and real-time container heatmaps.
These upgrades will help exporters, MSMEs, and policymakers streamline operations and strengthen India’s position in global supply chains.
Logistics Data Bank (LDB) 2.0 to Boost Export Competitiveness
The enhanced platform provides real-time visibility across road, rail, and sea by leveraging integration with Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) APIs. Exporters can now track containers even after departure from Indian ports across international waters, enhancing credibility and coordination in global markets.
A live container heatmap further enables location-based tracking of distribution patterns, helping industry stakeholders and government agencies detect bottlenecks and take timely corrective action.

Digital Backbone for Viksit Bharat @2047
At the launch, Goyal emphasized that Logistics Data Bank (LDB) 2.0 represents a crucial step in building the digital backbone of India’s logistics ecosystem.
“This initiative will accelerate our journey towards Atmanirbhar Bharat by empowering exporters and manufacturers with real-time data and smarter infrastructure,” he said.
By supporting MSMEs and exporters with data-driven tools, LDB 2.0 aligns with the government’s vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 and strengthens India’s digital trade infrastructure for global competitiveness.
